The Bible has become such an important part of my life. I love to dig into The Word and discover insights, truths, and ways for living. In our family, the Bible is our guidebook, and so central to our faith. As parents, my husband and I have exposed our children to the Bible since they were very young.

Our bookshelves are lined with picture  Bibles, story Bibles, pop-up Bibles, etc. These Bibles are great for our toddler and preschooler. The picture Bibles familiarize them with the classic Bible stories, Jesus, and the morals and principles we use to guide our family. However, our two older children (6 & 8) are at an age where they are too old for a picture Bible, and not quite old enough to dive into an adult Bible.

Several weeks ago, my son came to me and expressed his desire for a new Bible. He told me he wanted a real Bible – a Bible with ALL 66 books. He’d been flipping through his little New Testament, desperately trying to find the story they’d talked about at church that morning. He said he was too grown-up for the “baby Bibles” and wanted his very own “grown-up” Bible.

After feeling ridiculously proud and very thankful, I knew he was right. I told him I’d start doing some research and find him just the right Bible. A few days later, I was given the opportunity to review The Adventure Bible from Zonderkidz. I knew it was just right for Henry. (And it is!!!)

The Adventure Bible is the #1 Bible for Kids, and it’s easy to see why. As I flip through the pages of this book, I am SO impressed with the way they bible2have taken care to add information, explanations, and applications to make the Bible kid-friendly. This Bible features many incredible ways for our kids to get to know Jesus and better understand God’s Word.

The Adventure Bible features things like, “Words to Treasure” (Bible verses to learn and memorize), “Did You Know?” (interesting facts to help understand God’s Word), and “Live It!” (application ideas.) The Bible also features fantastic background information on the people and culture of the Bible, showing illustrations, maps, articles, and more – all designed for elementary school kids to love and understand their Bible. I cannot say enough good things about this Bible. I wish I had had it as a child, and am THRILLED for my son to begin to discover how the Bible can change his life.

I am SO excited to be giving one of these awesome Bibles away to one of my readers!! This would make a great Christmas gift as well! You can purchase an Adventure Bible for a child in your life.

Good luck and thanks for entering!

  1. Bekki,

We literally just had this conversation with our 6 year old last night. He asked for a “real” Bible. Not one with pictures or shortened stories. I got all teared up just hearing that. He is so hungry for the word of God right now and he is just beginning to understand what it all means and how it will change his life.

    • That is exactly how I felt! It was an awesome moment. I couldn’t believe that this opportunity came up right after my six year old asked. Pretty incredible.

  2. My favorite Bible story is Daniel in the lions den.

  3. I like Genesis and how the world began!

  4. My favorite bible story is The Prodigal Son

  5. My favorite is the resurrection of Jesus.

  6. My Favorite Bible story is Noah Building the Ark :)
