I love PLAY time. When the tv is off, and the imagination is active, beautiful things can happen. Little hands and little minds need to be inspired, encouraged, educated, and given a chance to be active! All of these toys were hand-picked  as I feel they encourage active and imaginative play. Happy shopping this year!

tinkerTinker Toys 100 Piece Essential Value Set
Tinker Toys are a throw-back to a time when children weren’t entertained by the screen, and used their imaginations to play and create. Tinker Toys encourage creativity while strengthening hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and critical thinking. I love seeing what my kids come up with when they play!

megaMega Bloks First Builders Deluxe Building Bag 160 Piece Set

We love Mega Bloks at our house! I frequently review products from  Mega Bloks and all four of our children love to play with them. I love the larger size that allows our youngest to get in on the building action – plus they’re easier to clean up too! A good set of building toys is essential – and this value can’t be beat!

microscopeEducational Insights My First Telescope

This is the perfect gift for kids who are curious and eager to explore the world around them. This is designed with younger kids in mind, as it is easy to operate and focus. Kids will love making their own scientific discoveries and observations. Hooray for encouraging the scientific process!

cgCurious George Plush

I am a big fan of anything that inspires or encourages a love of reading. All four of my kids love Curious George, and would love to snuggle up with this adorable plush at night. How much fun would it be to cuddle with your favorite book character? Think of all the adventures your child and George could go on!

foodplayLearning Resources Play Food

I am a huge fan of play food. I love teaching kids about healthy choices and try to get my kids in the kitchen as often as possible. I love the quality and durability of the Learning Resources line. You can choose from the Healthy Lunch Basket (featured), the Healthy Breakfast Basket, Healthy Dinner Basket, or Healthy Snack Set. My kids love these sets and we will likely be adding to our collection this year.

 cartShopping Cart
We bought our oldest daughter a shopping cart for her 2nd birthday. (She’s now 8.) That shopping cart has been THE go-to toy at our home ever since. Every child that comes over runs to play with the shopping cart. Our kids love to pile it up with various toys and push it around the house. This model from Melissa & Doug is a great value with excellent reviews.

doctorMedical Kit

Every child loves to play doctor. My kids love to give check-ups to their dolls and stuffed toys, and think it’s hilarious to give us “shots.” Playing doctor can also help alleviate fears and/or anxiety as well. This set from Fisher Price is a great value and a set we own.
