Subscription boxes are all the rage right now. From artisanal foods to beauty items to hand-picked clothing – adults are turning to subscription boxes for monthly fun and surprises. But now, there is an educational subscription box for kids!

MyEduCrate is a subscription box service created by certified teachers with exciting, surprising educational themes that will inspire, engage and entertain the growing minds of children ages 8 -12 years old. If you are a parent looking for ways to keep your child engaged in meaningful learning this summer or a homeschooling parent looking for ways to supplement your curriculum, I highly recommend MyEduCrate!

Each month’s box will feature a new educational theme – guaranteed to keep things fresh and interesting. You will ALWAYS find a great read and hands on activities in your box. Each crate offers new challenges for your child to complete and then enter in a contest for a chance to win the ultimate prize box. Is your child ready to accept the challenge?

We received “The Path to EnLIGHTenment” box, centering around – you guessed it- electricity! It was so much fun to “spark” my children’s’ curiosity about electricity with this fun collection of activities and resources.

Inside our box we found:

  • the supplies and instructions needed to make a circuit board
  • a “Human Light Bulb”
  • the book, “Who Was Thomas Alva Edison” by Margaret Frith (part of our favorite series!)
  • two wire teasers brain puzzles
  • a ruler, brain eraser, and pencil

It can be difficult to find ready-to-go STEM activities (especially if you’re more literacy minded!), so I really appreciated this particular kit. I was provided with all of the resources and instructions needed to guide my kids through two fun electricity-related activities. The included book allows you to create a “mini unit” on the topic, learning across the curriculum.

The kids had a blast with the “Human Light Bulb” and can’t wait to build a circuit with their dad tomorrow. I love watching them get excited about new topics of interest, and know they would eagerly anticipate the arrival of a new MyEduCrate box each month!
