Pizza Grilled Cheese
My family is pretty predictable. Every 2 weeks when I sit down to make up my new meal plan, I always ask for suggestions, and always get the same 3 responses – pizza, spaghetti, and tacos. While I love that my family is so easy to please, I like finding new ways to serve up some of our favorites.
Pizza is a HUGE favorite at our house. Since moving to the farm, delivery is no longer an option (insert sad face), and the closest carry-out is 20+ miles away. So, if we want pizza – I have to make it. (See the end of the post for some of my favorite pizza recipes!)
I typically make deep-dish pizza, but wanted to mix it up this week. I decided to do a mash-up of grilled cheese and pizza, and the result was delicious! Everyone loved getting to choose their own toppings, and the mozzarella and sauce were so tasty on these sandwiches! I hope you’ll try this fun idea!
Bread – 2 slices per sandwich
Pizza Sauce (*jarred spaghetti/marinara sauce works just fine)

- Start by buttering one side of your bed, and place butter-side down onto your griddle. I like to have my griddle on medium heat. Top your bread with pizza sauce. I used about 2 T per slice.
2. Next, add your mozzarella cheese. You could totally use shredded mozzarella if that’s what you have on hand, but I like cutting thicker pieces off of a block of cheese.
3. Next, customize each sandwich by adding everyone’s desired toppings. Get as creative as you like!
4. Top with the final slice of buttered bread. At this point, you should be ready to start flipping your sandwiches.
When both sides of your sandwich are nice and golden brown, and your cheese is all melty and irresistible, it’s time to serve these babies up! How good does that look?!
