My husband, the pastor of our church, is currently taking our congregation through a study of the Book of Luke. Each week, as he introduces the Scripture we’ll be studying, he has taken time to show the corresponding scenes from The Gospel of Luke. Not only has the movie prepared us for his sermons, but it has allowed us to experience the Bible in a new way.

As someone who has grown up in the church and is committed to reading my Bible – this movie (as well as The Gospel of Mark) allows me to visualize the words and stories that have so impacted my life. This is a movie that every person of faith needs to have in their home movie library.

While Hollywood often tends to distort the Bible or take quite a bit of artistic license – The Gospel of Luke is shot word for word – using the gospel as it’s script. This incredibly unique approach allows the audience to truly get a realistic look at how the stories in this book of the Bible unfolded. Using specially constructed sets and the authentic Moroccan countryside, The Gospel of Luke
