Chocolate Peanut Butter M&M Pudding Cookies
Some people can sit and crochet a blanket or a hat without even thinking about it. Some can sing in perfect harmony. Others have rhythm and can dance without looking ridiculous. I can’t do any of those things – but what I CAN do is make good cookies. And these cookies are just too good to keep to myself.
If you’ve never tried a pudding cookie – you need to. Something about adding the pudding mix helps keep the cookies perfectly round and crazy soft.
My kids helped me make these as part of our homeschooling today. We are studying atoms, and they added M&M protons and neutrons, and chocolate chip electrons to their cookies. Science is so delicious. 😉
Their cookies turned out so well, I just had to bake up a batch of these to share with all of you. These are soft, chewy, and look like you went to the bakery. I hope you’ll try them!
- 1 1/2 sticks margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (I didn’t measure. I just scooped!)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 small box instant chocolate pudding (*Use just the dry mix. Don’t prepare the pudding!)
- M&Ms for decorating
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together margarine and sugars. Add in eggs and vanilla, and mix well. Mix in peanut butter, making sure to scrape the sides of the bowl. Add in dry ingredients and mix until incorporated.
Scoop onto cookie sheet and top with M&M candies or chocolate chips/chunks.
Bake for approximately 10 minutes. Do NOT over-bake! I like to pull my cookies out when they’re just a tad under-done, and let them finish baking on the cookie sheet while on my cooling rack. (Maybe just a personal preference, but I don’t care for cookies that crunch.)
