This post was written in partnership with Bright Stripes. I received free product to facilitate my review. Opinions are my own.
Let’s be honest. A full day of “zooming” and online school is stressful for our kids. And even though my high school freshman is doing well, I started to notice that she needed time to unwind and decompress after school each day. However, like most of us, the things she typically used to relax were just more screens! A creative outlet was exactly what she needed. I’ve often said that creativity is like a balm for the soul – and I really believe it!
After spending some time being creative, you can practically see a teenager’s stress melt away! It’s so fun to watch her face a blank page and see a world of possibilities – just like when she was younger!
iHeartArt kits were specifically designed with older kids in mind. The majority of art supply sets and kits on the market are targeted towards the preschool and elementary set. My middle schooler and high schooler needed something beyond crayons and construction paper. But, finding appealing and affordable art supplies for teens and tweens was a challenge. iHeartArt is the perfect bridge between the land of finger paint and wide-tipped markers and a professional’s tools. These sets can help older kids discover and stretch their artistic abilities while preserving their imagination.
We received two of the iHeartArt kits, the iHeart Art Mash Up Art Pack Watercolor Blends & Ink, and the iHeart Art Mash Up Art Pack Glitter FX. (And my kids LOVED them!)
My son really enjoyed the iHeart Art Mash Up Art Pack Watercolor Blends & Ink kit. The kit came with everything he needed to get started – including a step-by-step artist technique guide! These sets allow kids to create – but also provide them the opportunity to grow and develop as artists as they learn new techniques and practice with new tools.
Henry loved learning how to use the water brush pen to blend the creamy watercolor pastels to look like paint.
From holiday art to scenes from his favorite movies, Henry has been spending more time being creative and less time in front of a screen. (Yay!)
The iHeartArt kits come with a variety of high-quality art supplies that allow the older kids in your life to express their creativity. These would make incredible gifts too!
