Welcome back to The Mom Spotlight everyone! Settle in and get to know another great mom from the blogosphere. We may be on opposite sides of the country..we may be next door neighbors…We may believe differently, vote differently, parent differently….BUT, we can all learn from each other. Each and every mom has something she can contribute and share….tips, recipes, ideas…I love catching glimpses into the lives of other families, and taking away one or two ideas to try out in my own home….and, in the process, we become more connected to each other.
Today’s mom taking a turn in the spotlight is Victoria, owner and founder of ABC Creative Learning Inc. (They have some AWESOME toys!) You can also find her on her blog! Check her out and show her some love! Lots of great things can be found on her site!!
Let me know if YOU would like to step into the spotlight! This weekly feature will be getting a facelift in a few weeks…new questions..slightly different format…should be good! Okay..ready to meet a new friend? Here we go!
Age: Just turned 30! Noooo! Just kidding!
Kids: 1 beautiful 19 month old little girl
Hometown: Sanford, Florida
Children’s TV show I actually LIKE: Dora, that is until I can’t get that song out of my head! Oh, no it’s going
to take me forever to get it out of my head!!
My children are NOT allowed to watch: Sponge Bob is a big no, no!
One kids’ movie I really love is: Tinkerbell & Beauty and the Beast, because they are my daughter’s favorite!
My favorite book(s) to read to my kids are: On the Night You Were Born & I Love You Sleepyhead. Oh, and
of course anything Dr. Seuss is great!
My kids go to bed at: 8:00pm (When I’m lucky)
My favorite rainy day activity is: Coloring & watching movies.
When it’s warm out: We always head to the park with our mommy playgroup & the beach.
My favorite kid friendly restaurants are: None, our daughter has food allergies so we really don’t dine out.
The pantry item I absolutely cannot live without is: Any kind of seasoning & rice.
My go-to weeknight dinner is: Chicken Fried Rice
My go-to company meal is: Puertorrican Rice & Beans
The food I pretend to buy for the kids that is really for me is: Oreos, it’s one of the few junk food that my
daughter can actually have.
My food weakness is: Ice Cream
I am not myself in the morning until I’ve had my cup of: COFEE! Pretend I’m not there unless you see me with
a cup in my hand :0)
Aside from my kids, I am PASSIONATE about: My business & education
If I had a whole day all to myself, I would: Have breakfast at my favorite restaurant, then head over for a
massage, manicure, pedicure, and end it with a glass of wine with girlfriends! Okay, well that’s a perfect day if
I had the mula to spend!!
My absolute most favorite movie of all time is: Weird, but it’s Lord of the Rings. All of them were great! We
have the set with the extended version and my husband and I have watched it probably like 20+ times. Not even
exaggerating! Probably more!
My favorite TV show is: Glee!, The Bachelor & Chuck! (Couldn’t decide)
My celebrity crush is: Ricky Martin (I know, I know) A girl can still dream!
If you were to put my ipod on shuffle, you’d likely hear: A mixture of Ricky Martin, Britney Spears (Shhh,
don’t tell anyone) & Dora!
The best book I ever read was: The Twilight Series ~ Very addicting!
My spouse (partner) and I keep romance alive by: Having date night once a week! This means receiving a
movie from Netflick in the mail and ordering in for us two! Usually something with cheese!!
My favorite place to shop is: for myself Gap and for my daughter (which I seem to do more often) Gymboree.
I am sent to my breaking point when: people don’t listen & by people I mean my husband!
When I’m stressed out I: tend to head straight to the kitchen & then I get more stressed because I remember that
I have to cook!
My favorite (most tolerated) way to exercise is: Walking ~ I used to do Stroller Strides with my daughter and it was actually fun!
The best piece of advice I ever received was: To believe in myself!
I love On The Night You Were Born…my aunt gave it to my daughter when she was born, and I have since given it often as a newborn gift.
Bekki, thank you for the opportunity to be featured in your blog! It was fun!! Krissa, isn’t it a beautiful book? My daughters godparents gave it to her when she got baptized. I try to read the book at least twice a week and usually end up crying by the end of the book. My poor daughter looks at me like “What’s wrong with you”, LOL! She will understand one day :0)
