I have a serious baking obsession…I love to make all things cake and cookie. I also love fiddling around with cake mixes..putting a few special touches on an ordinary cake mix. When asked to bring a dessert to a friend’s house last night, I was excited to try out something new…..Death by Chocolate Bundt Cake…drooling yet? SO so tasty, and oh so simple! With just a few added ingredients (that you probably have anyways!) you can turn a plain cake mix into a warm, gooey, extra chocolatey piece of heaven.

Here’s what you’ll need to make your Death by Chocolate cake (And really, if it does kill you…what a way to go!)

1 Devil’s Food Cake mix

1 4oz pkg of chocolate pudding mix

4 eggs

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup oil

1 cup sour cream

1 cup chocolate chips (You can add more if you desire your cake to be even more gooey and chocolatey!)

This is an incredibly awesome recipe, because all you really have to do is dump and mix! Even the most un-domestic of divas can whip up this cake and impress the socks off of your family and friends! Simply add the ingredients together in a bowl, and mix for several minutes on medium speed. (I use my Kitchen-Aid for everything, so this cake was ULTRA easy!)

Grease your bundt pan generously with cooking spray! Pour your batter into your bundt pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for approximately 50 minutes, or until the top springs back when touched. It will be difficult to use the toothpick method to test the done-ness of this cake, as the chocolate chips inside will almost always make your toothpick come back gooey! The trick with bundt pans is to let your cake cool completely before trying to un-mold it. You will have your heart broken if you try to turn your pan upside down with a warm cake inside…I have ripped many a beautiful cake before I learned my lesson! Just wait!

We served this cake up warm, with some nice vanilla ice cream. This was so yummy and I can’t wait to sneak another slice tonight!! Enjoy! May you live to make many more Death by Chocolate cakes!
