Back when I was a kid, my mom would hijack my NES all the time…She was really into Zelda and Link, and even beat both games. At the time, I remember thinking, “video games are for KIDS Mom.” Years later, as a mom myself, I know now that she was onto something….
When I used to have more time (and less children), I would find myself playing seek and find games on the computer. I love them…I was even more intrigued when the game had a story-line and some type of over-arching goal. Imagine my delight when I found out that there is a game with all of that and more for the Wii (that doesn’t come with the typical hour-long time restraint!)
I have fallen in love with Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident for the Wii Console. This game is seriously addictive, and so much fun. In this exciting new release from Nintendo, you will explore the mysterious Malgrave Island, which has been abandoned for years. Winston Malgrave has commissioned you as detective to navigate your way through the island in search of a special powder, which he believes will help save the life of his wife.
As you maneuver your way through the expansive island, you’ll explore a variety of rooms, settings, and landscapes, keeping the game fresh and interesting. Along the way, you’ll stop to play hidden object games (some of which are pretty challenging!), solve puzzles, and collect clues and artifacts to help piece together the mystery of the island. One of my favorite features is that at each checkpoint, you’ll typically need to stop and figure out a way to further yourself….forcing you to retrace your steps, search the scene a bit deeper, and think outside of the box. You may need to find a way to open a locked gate or break into a piano….you are always using your head and working to solve the fun puzzles and mysteries that lie in your path.
I KNOW that every mom out there will enjoy this game. (And with school right around the corner, you’ll need SOMETHING to distract yourself from laundry and dinner prep all day right ladies??) Seriously, this is a video game that isn’t just for the kids. While my daughter enjoys helping me look for things, Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident is a game for ME. This is a fun way for me to unwind at the end of a crazy day…Taking twenty minutes to work my way through a scene or two is a great way to de-stress and relax. I love that I can play at my own pace, and that I don’t have to worry about time limits. Leisurely and intriguing, Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident is the perfect game for moms out there to try….It’s time to put a Wii game on the shelf that isn’t all about the 11 year old boys in the house…Do something for YOU. Solve some puzzles…find some hidden objects…work your way through a deserted island and mansion and let yourself escape the dishes, the Windex, and the living room floor for fifteen minutes…
This game, rated E for Everyone, is also a perfect way to spend family game night! Work together as a family to solve the mysteries and puzzles. Get everyone involved in the hunt for hidden objects and clues. You will all quickly get into working your way through the island resort,as the beautiful graphics, powerful music and narration, and intriguing plot line keep you driven towards the goal.
