It is hard to believe, but I am closing in on my first year anniversary of blogging here at Chasing Supermom.  What a year it has been!! It started one afternoon as I was using the computer in the garage while watching my kids play out front. I was playing around on some silly game, and though…”You know what, I could be doing something useful with my time….” I started to think about what I TRULY wanted to do. One thing kept coming to mind…help moms.

I had begun to blog several years earlier…posting an article or two here and there in just a simple blogger format..I had just started my journey as a stay at home mom. I felt inadequate…stressed…and frankly like I should be vacuuming in pearls and high heels. Realizing that I was not alone in my crazy quest to be “Supermom” , I began my website last August. I wanted to establish a place where moms could come together, receive validation, find useful tips, realistic recipes, and a true-to-life picture of everyday motherhood. We’re not perfect, but we wake up each day wanting what is best for our families and our children. We try. We fail. We’re chasing the dream…chasing “Supermom.”

I wanted other moms out there to realize that they were NOT the only one feeling like they didn’t have it all together…I wanted moms to not suffer endless guilt over not wanting to play Play-doh, or watch yet another episode of Yo Gabba Gabba. I wanted to spread the word that casseroles are okay, not making it out of your sweats until 3 pm is normal, and that you’re not going to mother jail if you serve your child baby food out of a jar. I hope and pray daily that there is a mom out there who has found comfort in my blog….validation….hope.

As I sit and evaluate the website after its first year, I began to think about getting back to my roots….doing what I REALLY want to write about…getting back to my core mission statement..”To change the mom at a time.” When I find myself not wanting to blog, it is when I realize how many obligations I’m caught up in…While I will still work with companies I love and trust, I want to get back to helping moms…to writing about things I’m passionate about…realistic everyday motherhood….And, I need your help.

I have devised a survey to collect your feedback. I would LOVE it if you could take a few minutes and fill it out for me. (It can be completely anonymous too!) Please share your ideas, and let me know what you would like to see more of on the site. I am here for YOU….the everyday mom. Thank you so much for reading….for supporting me….for making my dream a reality.
