I am a sucker for cookies, and an even bigger sucker for quick and easy cookies! I’m also willing to admit that I am a big fan of sugary cereals…..and yes, I buy them for ME! (My kids eat Chex and Shredded Wheat, and Mommy has the good stuff.) =) Last week, I wanted to combine my love of cookies with my love of indulgent cereal, and came up with chocolate krispie treats. (And they did not disappoint!) This is a fun little change-up from everyday rice krispie treats, and is a snack that will please kids and grown-ups alike on game day or any day!
Here is what you’ll need to make these sweet and gooey treats!
Ingredients
6 cups chocolate krispie cereal (I actually use the Coco Roos from Malt-o-Meal)
6 cups mini marshmallows OR 40 big marshmallows (You can even use the chocolate/vanilla swirl marshmallows to make these even MORE special!)
3 T butter or margarine
To Prepare
1. Melt the butter in a large pan.
2. Add in the marshmallows and stir constantly over low to medium low heat until the marshmallows are melted.
3. Remove from heat and stir in the cereal.
4. Spread in a greased 9×13 pan. (You may need to butter your hands to spread the mixture into the pan.)
These are SUPER good and oh so easy to make! Enjoy!
