I have been super-slacking when it comes to meal planning. I’m a HUGE plan and champion of meal planning, and I’m so ready to get myself back in gear and start planning out our meals. Meal planning saves money at the grocery store, but more importantly (to me) saves me the STRESS of standing around the kitchen at 4:00 thinking “What on earth am I going to make?!” I love the confidence that comes from knowing exactly what we’re having and the assurance that all of the ingredients are on hand. Plus, we’re less likely to stay in our dinner rut.

A few weeks ago, I asked a question on the Chasing Supermom Facebook Page (come join our online community!) about what you serve your kids for breakfast….and me and my trust Eggos were put to shame! I’ll admit that to date, most of our weekday mornings include easy peasy things like cold cereal, instant oatmeal, and microwavable French toast. I know…not the best start to the day. It’s no wonder that my kids can end up cranky and irritable. So, inspired by some of the incredible moms that follow the blog, I decided to change the way we do breakfast. I decided to add breakfast to my meal planning. We’ll give it a whirl and see how it goes. I’m excited to start my kids off with a homemade breakfast and see how that affects their attitude and energy level. (And, I may end up starting my morning with more than a Diet Coke!)

I also decided to plan out a few treats. This gives me something to look forward to and both feeds and controls my baking addiction. =)

Enjoy my meal plan! Hopefully you’ll walk away with a new idea or two! I’ve linked to recipes when I have them, and if other dishes turn out, you’ll see them on the blog soon! *My kids always let me know when something is successful. If it’s good, they take a bite and say, “Put it on the blog!” =) All of these meals fall within the Chasing Supermom Meal Trifecta – Cheap, Easy, The Kids Will Eat It!
