Spring is the time of new beginnings. Leaves begin to re-appear on trees, flowers emerge from the ground, and animals awaken from their winter slumber. Everything is made new again. Bright colors and new life spring up before our eyes.
Books can usher in a “spring” for a reader. What was once drab and dreary, like a tree without leaves, can be made beautiful and vibrant as pages are turned and new ideas are formed. Creativity and imagination spring to life when books are read. Everything is made new and fresh as connections are made, questions are pondered, and mental puzzles are put together.
Spring is the perfect time to curl up with your kids and bring new ideas to life through reading! (Actually, ANY time is the perfect time to read with your child!) I’ve compiled a list of books about some of my favorite elements of spring. I hope you will sit down and enjoy a few of these titles with your children. Enjoy and happy spring!
