Being a pastor’s family, we have more than our fair share of Bibles. I’ve got my tattered and marked-up NIV, my copy of The Message, and my “Read Through the Bible in a year Bible.” My husband has at least a dozen in a variety of versions. We’ve got a handful of the little testaments from the Gideons. Our shelves are stocked with a wide variety of “My First Bibles” full of pictures and a selection of the most widely known Bible stories.

But as I started to think about it, we didn’t have any Bibles that were right for my school-aged daughter. She’s too old for the preschool and toddler Bibles we have, and too young to want to tackle the giant-sized volumes my husband and I read. I wanted her to have a complete Bible, but one that was in a version she could easily read and understand, and a Bible designed with a bible (1 of 1)child in mind.

When I found out about the glipit Bible, I was so excited! The glipit Bible is a complete Bible, containing all 66 books. It’s in the NLT (New Living Translation), which is accurate AND easy to read and understand. I love that it is compact, as the sheer size of many Bibles can turn off any reader. This Bible is accessible AND has an element of fun and creativity!

The glipit Bible (stands for “God’s Love Is Perfect”), is covered in a soft silicone material, and comes with 120 removable silicone pieces in 4 different colors (one of which glows in the dark!) My daughter was SO excited to design her Bible, and I believe that if kids are putting something of themselves into their Bible and really “owning” it, that they will be all the more likely to READ it!

Here’s what my daughter had to say about her brand new glipit Bible:

“It is cool because you can use the little squares and you can decorate it, on the front AND back! I like all of the stories in the Bible and it’s easy to read and understand. It is fun to read my Bible.”
So, if your child is ready to transition out of their preschool Bible, Hannah and I highly recommend the glipit Bible! Pick one up HERE.
