Everywhere you go, you see folks suffering from a cold. Sneezes, sniffles, and pesky coughs are winter’s soundtrack. Germs are shared along with hugs and stories. It’s the way it goes. But how can we keep our family safe and healthy during this time of year?
I’ve come up with a few easy tips to help get through the cold and flu season.
1. Wash your hands with soap and warm water!
Teach your children to properly wash their hands. A great trick is to sing a song like Twinkle Twinkle while washing, to ensure they are scrubbing for a decent amount of time!
2. Stay hydrated!
Drink plenty of water and other liquids daily, and always keep a glass of water close by for your children. In times of sickness, staying hydrated is a great defense to keep fevers under control and your body healthy.
3. Get plenty of rest.
Get a good night’s sleep each night. Sleep helps your body rest and reserves your energy.
4. Take a warm bath.
A warm bath helps the nose to drain, and can provide a lot of relief for children. I always add some liquid vapor bath bubbles to the bath when my children are suffering from a cold.
5. Keep smiling.
When my kiddos are sick, I try to make the experience as fun as possible. We watch movies, read stories, and snuggle with special pillows and blankets.
However, as hard as you try, your family WILL get sick from time to time. And when they do, Mucinex is there to help. With products for both children and adults, Mucinex has you covered (and mucus out the door!)
You can head to the Mucinex website and “Find My Mucinex.” Click your symptoms, and find the right medicine for you. (Click for complete drug facts, uses, warnings, dosing chart, and active ingredients.)
