*This post is sponsored by Disney and Mom Select. I received a Disney Side Kit to facilitate my party. All opinions are my own.
My Disney Side? It’s all about nostalgia and wonder. I can barely look at an image of Sleeping Beauty’s castle without tearing up. I think about my experiences at the park and the many incredible Disney memories I have.
My family is currently planning a trip to Disneyland. We couldn’t be more thrilled. The last time we went, I was pregnant with our first child. This will be our children’s first trip to Disney, and there is SO much I cannot wait to share with them, and experience for the first time through their eyes.
We chose to throw our Disney Side party in conjunction with our daughter’s second birthday party. Harper LOVES Minnie Mouse, so we knew this would be an extra-special party for her.
I made Mickey sugar cookies using my adorable Mickey Mouse cookie cutters, included in my kit. I also made Mickey Mouse cupcakes, by frosting my cupcakes with chocolate frosting, and using chocolate sandwich cookies for the ears. They were a big hit with the kids (and grown-ups!) at the party.
The cake was made using my giant cupcake pan. I frosted the cake with homemade marshmallow cream, and used dipped sugar cookies for the ears. A printed Minnie bow completed the cake. I was so pleased with how our treats turned out. (And of course, the birthday girl was thrilled!)
Our guests loved getting to decorate a t-shirt, courtesy of Hanes. Everyone was so creative and had fun showing their Disney Side.
The guests also enjoyed photo paper courtesy of HP, and other fun Disney goodies. Who doesn’t love a little SWAG? (I do!)
We played a selection of our favorite Disney tunes (including some ride-through music!), and shared insider tips and ideas for our summer vacations to the park.
Everyone shared their favorite rides and Disney movies. My little man (at right) cannot wait to take a ride on the Disneyland Railroad and zoom down the track on Big Thunder Mountain. We’re also anxious to check out Cars Land, which is new since our last visit.
Disney is special and magical for everyone who has experienced it. From the lifetime’s worth of memories that come from a trip to one of their parks, to the delight you get from watching a film on the big screen, to a cozy family night watching Toy Story for the zillionth time – Disney is a part of us. So what’s your Disney Side?
