Last weekend, children and families were able to experience some exciting new ways to lead a fit and fun lifestyle. As parents, we all want our children to be healthy – but often struggle to find ways to motivate our kids or convince them to eat healthy foods. LeapFrog, an industry leader in educational technology, has developed a new product designed to get kids moving. (And of course, they’re having a blast while they’re getting healthy!)
My kids were thrilled to receive the all-new LeapBand™, the new wearable activity tracker from LeapFrog, that encourages kids and their families to jump into motion and experience the fun of an active and healthy lifestyle.
Kids slip the LeapBand™ on their wrist, choose a pet to care for, and get busy moving! The LeapBand provides kids with many different pre-programmed activities that help get them active. The activities are varied and lots of fun for kids. Kids earn joules for each activity they do -unlocking new pets! Kids are motivated to move and groove with LeapBand!
“I love getting to choose your own pet and their color. It tells you really fun activities to do.” ~Hannah, age 8
My church was hosting a large community block party, and I decided to have a #FitMadeFun Party at my booth! Kids that came to the booth were able to check out the LeapBand and/or take a 60 second activity challenge. We had tons of fun talking about fitness and inspiring kids to stay active.
Kids were challenged to take a ride on a scooter, run in place, do star jumps, bounce in the bounce house, and more! Our kid visitors loved the pet pals on the LeapBand. My children love feeding and caring for their pets. As they turn the LeapBand on to “feed” their pet dog or unicorn, they also hit the activity button, and are instantly moving!
Part of our party included a focus on healthy snacks. We were able to provide samples of three tasty flavors of the CLIF Kid ZBar Protein. We sampled Peanut Butter Chocolate (the overwhelming community favorite), Chocolate Mint, and Chocolate Chip. These are delicious, and give your kids the protein they need. The bars are made with organic whole grains, and provide protein and fiber. I like to throw one in their lunchbox to give them the afternoon boost they need! Kids also went on a “healthy snack hunt” in my sensory bin. We talked about fruits, veggies and healthy dairy choices.
Make sure to check out the new LeapFrog LeapBand and the CLIF Kid ZBar Protein. Have FUN staying active and healthy. It’s fun to be fit!
This is a great idea. Anything to get kids moving these days is a good thing. Thanks for sharing!
