Some bakers love to invent new cakes. Some like to dabble in pies. I myself LOVE to find ways to make BROWNIES even tastier than they already are. A great brownie is pretty irresistible! It’s chocolatey, gooey, and the perfect thing when you can’t decide between cake or cookies.

I’m also a huge fan of recipes that take something easy and convenient, like a boxed brownie mix, and allow you to create something pretty amazing. These brownies are definitely “company-worthy”, although they are perfectly suitable for the lunchbox too!

And did I mention that they feature a decadent SKIPPY® Peanut Butter “mud”?!! This is really like a two-for-one dessert, because honestly, you’re getting two treats out of this one! The topping is a blend of chocolate, peanut butter, and tasty crispy rice cereal. It’s AMAZING. You’re going to love these. Go make them. Right now. I implore you. =)

chocolate peanut butter brownies

Ingredients

1 boxed brownie mix

water, oil, and eggs as called for on the mix you purchaseDSC_0483

3/4 cup SKIPPY® Peanut Butter

*Be as creative as you like! Use their new Salted Caramel Peanut Butter, the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter, Smooth, Extra Crunchy – the sky is the limit!!

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 T butter

2(ish) cups of Rice Krispies cereal

To Prepare:

1. Prepare brownies as directed on package. Bake and allow to cool.

2. In a large pan, combine the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter. Over medium heat, stir until the mixture is melted and smooth. (And control yourself from eating this delicious mixture by the spoonful!)

3. Slowly add in your cereal. Start with a cup. Stir. Add more. Stir again. You are going for a consistency that is not as “dry” as when you make a Rice Krispie treat. You want your cereal mixture to be gooey yet slightly firm.

4. Spread the “mud” mixture on top of the cooled brownies. Refrigerate for several hours to firm up the topping. *Pull them out of the refrigerator at least 20 minutes prior to serving for easier cutting!

These are SUPER good and you are going to love them! Enjoy!
