I won’t lie. My kids eat a lot of cereal. We’re also fans of instant oatmeal and toaster waffles. While I love to cook, I don’t typically make a lot of homemade breakfasts during the week. That might change.
I’ve been flipping through my new Brunch @ Bobby’s: 140 Recipes for the Best Part of the Weekend Cookbook, fawning and drooling over the incredible recipes. This morning I woke up and prepared Bobby Flay’s Silver Dollar Buttermilk Pancakes. Wow. These were delicious and not much harder to prepare than pancakes made from a mix! Moms – you can do this!
Within minutes, the entire plate of pancakes had been gobbled up by my family. I asked my two oldest kids if they wanted syrup, and their responses were, “They don’t even need syrup!” and “They’re just so good by themselves!” I also heard, “You need to make these every single day.”
While I know that I won’t make a homemade breakfast every morning, I do know that with the help of Bobby Flay’s new cookbook, “Brunch @ Bobby’s”, I will be making it more often. There are SO many recipes in the book I cannot wait to try. Seriously – Gingerbread Pumpkin Waffles….how AMAZING do those sound?!! Whether I am whipping up a weekday breakfast for my kids or making something special to share at mom’s group, this book has so many tasty options to pick from. From eggs to baked goods – this is your ultimate guide to brunch!
At long last, Bobby shares his simplest, most sought-after recipes—while still delivering his signature intense flavors.
Bobby Flay may be best known for his skills at the grill, but brunch is his favorite meal of the week. In Brunch @ Bobby’s he includes 140 recipes starting with the lip-smacking cocktails, both spiked and virgin, that we have come to expect from him, along with hot and iced coffees and teas. He then works his way through eggs; pancakes, waffles, and French toast (including flavored syrups and spreads); pastries (a first) and breads; salads and sandwiches; and side dishes. Pull up a seat and enjoy a Sangria Sunrise, Carrot Cake Pancakes with Maple-Cream Cheese Drizzle, Sautéed Bitter Green Omelets, and Wild Mushroom-Yukon Gold Hash. This is how Bobby does brunch.
Before I looked through this book, I thought of Bobby Flay as the “grill guy.” It was so nice to see a different side of him and his culinary abilities. This cookbook is a must-have and chock-full of recipes to make breakfast or brunch incredible.
