Right about this time of year, everyone starts to go crazy for Pumpkin Spice. Now don’t get me wrong, I get excited about my first latte of the season and bake up pumpkin muffins like there’s no tomorrow, BUT, I feel like we often skip right over “Apple Season.”

To me, September is apple season, and I LOVE the way my home smells when I’ve got something with apples and cinnamon baking away. These recipes are warm, comforting, and so inviting. I’m sharing my 10 favorite apple recipes from the blog and I hope you enjoy them!

1. Caramel Apple Bundt Cake

This is one of my “go-to” company desserts – and everyone I make it for just loves it. This is a yellow cake full of sliced apples, topped with caramel. The cake is moist, and I love having apple in each bite. Even though this dessert starts with a boxed cake mix, the end result is truly something special.

2. Quick Apple Crisp

This apple crisp cannot get any easier! With just 5 ingredients, you’ll have a warm and comforting dessert on the table for your family. The topping gets a helping hand from something I’ll bet you have in your pantry – and it’s a delicious short-cut! This is all the taste of apple pie without the work of a crust.

3. Apple Pie Sundae

When we typically think about apple pie, we picture the ice cream on top of the pie. This fun little twist turns apple pie into a layered sundae. My recipe consists of a warm spiced apple and a crumble, that you layer with vanilla ice cream. This was a big hit with my family.

4. Baked Apple Cider Donuts

Everyone who knows me well knows that donuts are sort of my thing. I love the sweetly spicy flavor of the donuts coupled with the taste of the cinnamon sugar coating. They’re just perfect – especially with a glass of thick cider.

5. Oatmeal Applesauce Cookies

Oatmeal and apples almost seem like they were meant for each other. These cookies are super soft and chewy and are fairly healthy! (You can even make them with whole wheat flour!)

6. Apple Spice Cupcakes with Apple Cider Buttercream

Apple Spice Cupcakes with Apple Cider Buttercream

I made these cupcakes up last year and just love them. While I adore the “punchy” kick of the apple cider buttercream, the apple spice cake left plain, could pass for a breakfast muffin. (I’m totally okay with this playing it fast and loose with what constitutes “acceptable” breakfast food.) These are really good!

7. Crockpot Apple Butter

I had never had apple butter until a couple of years ago, and now I wonder why I went so long without it in my life! Apple butter is like a really thick applesauce that you can spread on toast, biscuits, pork….the possibilities are endless. I’m totally content to eat it with a spoon! (As a bonus, your house will smell AMAZING as this cooks away in your slow cooker!)

8. Butterscotch Apples

Butterscotch apples is SUCH an easy little side dish. If you’re the daring sort, you could maybe get away with calling it a “salad.” =) I love the combination of butterscotch with apples, and the overall simplicity of this dish.

9. Zucchini Apple Muffins

I know, I know, muffins aren’t exactly a dessert, but I think you’ll let it slide when you make them. I love that they help use up the zucchini I have growing like crazy in my garden and love the slightly “cinnamony” taste. They stay really moist and make an awesome breakfast or afternoon snack.

10. Angel Pie Breakfast Cake

You’ll have to overlook the horrible photo and trust me that this little 2 ingredient (you heard that right!) breakfast cake is so worth making! This little treat is perfect to take to a brunch or a mom’s group and features you guessed it – apples! (Apple pie filling that is!) You have to try this one to see how easy and delicious it is!
