Living on a farm, it’s no surprise that my children love animals. From collecting the daily eggs to eagerly awaiting calving season – farm living is exciting for our children. However, the most beloved animal on our farm is the horse – and it’s easy to see why.

Horses are majestic. They’re graceful, beautiful, and in our case – kind of bossy. 😉 Schleich (the leader in animal figurines in my opinion!) has completely captured the beauty of these amazing creatures. Not only are the sets and figures incredibly detailed- they’re high-quality and and a sure-fire way to spark imaginative play. (My kids can and will play “farm” for HOURS with our Schleich sets!)

We were so excited to add to our Schleich Horse Club collection! Check out our new unboxing video to see what we got:

The two sets featured in our video are:

Rider with Icelandic Ponies

Schleich Horse Club Playset

Recreational Rider with Horse

Schleich Horse Club Playset

Both of these sets are part of the Schleich Horse Club collection, and are new playsets. Visit the Schleich Website to see these sets and MANY MORE incredible playsets and products.

As a mother of four, a former classroom teacher, and now as a homeschooling parent – I am always THRILLED when toys inspire learning. The Schleich Horse Club sets and figurines are so life-like and detailed, that kids will want to know more. As your kids play you’ll start to hear questions like, “What type of horse is this?” “How do you learn to ride a horse?” “How do you put a saddle on a horse?” “What is this rope called?” “How many kinds of horses are there?” (The list will go on and on! Hooray for inquisitive kids and building new interests!) Even though my kids know quite a bit about horses, it was fun to see them wanting to know more.

For me, there’s almost nothing better than when a toy prompts a child to READ! Playing with the Schleich sets inspired my girls to find books about horses. As a teacher, I know how important it is to keep kids reading over the summer – so I was more than happy to help my girls find some books about horses.

Since Schleich appeals to a wide range of ages, I am including two book lists, so that you can help your little equestrian find the book that is just right for their reading level.
