Every fall, I look forward to teaching an apple unit. I love taking a few weeks to celebrate all things apple. One of my FAVORITE ways to approach any topic with children is through books! (Books are the BEST!)
When sharing picture books with children, I’ve been making a conscious effort to read more non-fiction titles. The following ten books share lots of great information about apples in a way kids will understand AND enjoy! Some of these are new favorites and some are books I’ve beens sharing with kids for years.
If you’re planning an apple unit in your classroom or homeschool this year (or if you just want to teach your kids about apples!), I hope you’ll check these books out.
The Seasons of Arnold’s Apple Tree by Gail Gibbons
How Do Apples Grow? by Betsy Maestro
Apples, Apples, Apples by Nancy Elizabeth
Apples Apples Everywhere: Learning About Apple Harvest by Robin Koontz
The Apple Pie Tree by Zoe Hall
Apples A to Z by Margaret McNamara
Thank you for sharing this list! I am going to be getting some fall books for my child at the library soon. 🙂
