Get ready musical theater fans – the 2017/2018 Broadway in Portland season is almost here! The first show in this year’s AMAZING line-up is The Bodyguard. The Bodyguard will be in Portland from November 7th through November 12th for 8 performances. This is a show you won’t want to miss!

The Bodyguard is based on the 1992 Oscar nominated film. Since it’s world premiere in December of 2012, The Bodyguard has been nominated for four Laurence Olivier Awards including Best New Musical and Best Set Design. It was selected as Best New Musical at the Whatsonstage Awards.

Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. A romantic thriller, The Bodyguard features a host of irresistible classics including So EmotionalOne Moment in TimeSaving All My LoveRun to YouI Have NothingI Wanna Dance with Somebody and one of the biggest selling songs of all time – I Will Always Love You. (And I’ll bet you didn’t read through that list of hits without breaking into song in your head!) Come hear them live!!!

Grammy® Award-nominated and multi-platinum R&B/pop recording artist and film/TV actress Deborah Cox stars as Rachel Marron. (The role of Rachel Marron will be played by Jasmin Richardson for the Saturday matinee and Sunday evening performances). In the role of bodyguard Frank Farmer, is television star Judson Mills.

*Deborah Cox will not be featured in these performances
