It’s that time of year! Hot cider and Egg Nog Lattes fill our cups. We eagerly grab for our favorite sweaters and boots in the morning. We snuggle up with a great throw at night. And…we start to do our holiday shopping.

I’m one of those women that has a very hard time coming up with gift ideas for myself. I love giving things to my children – but really struggle asking for things that are just for me. Towards that end, I wanted to come up with a gift guide that will not only help you shop for people on your list, but will maybe give you an idea or two to put on your OWN wish-list!

Without further adieu, here are my 2017 gift guide picks!

Subscription Boxes

Let’s be honest for a second. Most of the mail we get is BORING. At our house, if it’s not Netflix, it’s either junk mail or a bill. (Yay…) I love the idea of giving the gift of FUN MAIL. How exciting would it be to open up a mystery box each month full of awesome goodies just for you! Here are a few of my faves:

Vellabox

Vellabox is an awesome CANDLE (how fun is that?!) subscription box – and let me tell you, EVERY candle I’ve received from them has smelled amazing! With boxes priced at $10, $20, and $30 monthly, there is something for every budget.

Each candle is carefully curated and beautifully packaged  for you to enjoy. These are not your average candles – and not something you’ll find at the chain stores. I love how unique (and pretty!) each candle from Vellabox is. Check them out!

The Book(ish) Box

I am obsessed with reading. If you have a reader on your list (or are a reader yourself), consider looking into The Book(ish) Box! Each month, you’ll get a themed box that features a shirt, and 3-5 home, beauty, and fashion items. Current themes include Harry Potter and Game of Thrones!

Winc

Winc is another great company I had the pleasure of working with earlier this year, and I love the idea of gifting a delivery of wine to someone on your list! They’ll hook you up with recommendations based on your Palate Profile quiz – and you’re always free to choose the wines you’re interested in (regardless of what they recommend.) And let me tell you – getting wine in the mail – so much better than my electric bill!

Cookbooks

I may be a tad obsessed with cookbooks. I absolutely love cookbooks that feature a picture of EVERY recipe and are full of “everyday” recipes that are kid-friendly. Here are a few of my favorites:

The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Come and Get It!: Simple, Scrumptious Recipes for Crazy Busy Lives (We all love Ree.)

Celebrate Every Season with Six Sisters’ Stuff (I’ve liked every recipe of theirs I’ve ever made!)

Taste of Home: Most Requested Recipes (has 633 recipes!!!)

Experiences

Everyone is talking about giving kids experiences in lieu of toys – and I would love to see that start to carry-over to adults as well. Many of us have a lot of STUFF. These are all great ideas for people that already have everything they need.

  • Gift certificate to get a massage (I still have one I need to cash in!)
  • Date Night in a Box! (Fill a box (or cute wire basket!) with a movie, snacks, bottle of wine, etc. This is a great idea for parents who may not be able to afford babysitters! (Aka -most parents!)
  • Babysitting Vouchers! When someone offers to babysit our children, it’s one of the best things. We rarely get to go out, and having someone gift us a date- would be amazing!
  • Movie tickets
  • Passes to a local attraction, museum, etc.

Quiet Time

One of my favorite parts of the day is my morning quiet time. I wake up early and enjoy 30-90 minutes alone. It’s glorious. Here are some items that help facilitate that time and make it extra special!

Cozy Waffle Throw (There’s nothing better than reading under a cozy AND stylish blanket! I LOVE this one!)

5 Year Journal (Legitimately one of my favorite things I own! I will be needing a new one this year.)

Bible Study Journal (I use this personally and love it. I’m considering giving this to friends this year!)

Fun coffee mug (I have a ton, and yet I keep buying ones with sayings that make me smile.)

Tea Kettle (There’s just something so comforting and calming about drinking tea. It quiets my soul.)

Books! Buy a friend a book that YOU love or that has been meaningful to you.
