My family and I absolutely fell in love with Bailey’s story through the two major motion pictures inspired by W. Bruce Cameron’s book, A Dog’s Purpose. We had actually just watched the second film (based on the book of the same name), A Dog’s Journey, just days before finding out about W. Bruce Cameron’s newest book – A Dog’s Promise! We were SO thrilled to learn that Bailey would continue to live on – fulfilling a dog’s ultimate purpose of loving his people. (Something dogs do so incredibly well.)
I couldn’t wait to dive into A Dog’s Promise. A Dog’s Promise continues the story of Bailey, the good dog whose journey started in A Dog’s Purpose and continued in A Dog’s Journey. This time, Bailey is joined by Lacey, another very special dog, who helps Bailey fulfill his promise over the course of several lives.
This book is WONDERFUL. (And oh how it makes me miss having a dog!) I definitely recommend it!
Lily’s Story: A Puppy Tale is the 7th in the Puppy Tale series by W. Bruce Cameron. Each book is a stand-alone story, and tells the tale of Lily, a rescue dog who meets a special girl named Maggie Rose at the animal shelter.
My son, (who is perhaps the biggest dog lover I know) was THRILLED to receive Lily’s Story: A Puppy Tale, and can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series. (Hello Christmas present idea!) The books are recommended for readers ages 8-12, and would also make fantastic read-alouds – especially if your kids are animal lovers or fans of the movies based on W. Bruce Cameron’s books.
