Like many others, my family and I gathered around the tv to watch the historic SpaceX launch. What an exciting moment for our country!

SpaceX has renewed an interest in space for many of us – making this the ideal time to  to introduce your kids to Celestial Buddies. Celestial Buddies is a line of plush characters representing the heavenly bodies in our solar system.

These soft and cuddly plush pals are the ideal science toy for young kids. (Although my teen and tween totally loved theirs too!) When your kids spend time with these cuddly plush (that range in size from a softball to a soccer ball), they’re likely to develop a genuine interest in space. (I saw a definite uptick in space travel interest after receiving our Celestial Buddies! The kids were digging into all of the space books in our home collection, watching videos of space launches, and monitoring several space-related accounts on Twitter!)

Remember how I mentioned SpaceX….Well -when astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley return on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule, they’ll be bringing back an extra passenger – a Celestial Buddies Earth Plush Pal!! (Seriously, how cool is that?!)

Dubbed “Little Earth”, this Celestial Buddy has been in space since March of 2019 – spending time with the astronauts aboard the International Space Station. (This makes having one of these in my house so incredibly fun!)

My kids were so thrilled to receive their Celestial Buddies. These not only served to bolster their growing interest in space, but provided some much needed joy and comfort during this time. Much like the Earth buddy that’s been aboard the ISS, our Celestial Buddies have also spent time enjoying a range of activities – from bouncing on our trampoline to snuggling up for family movie night. 🙂

We received the Sun, Earth, Moon, and Mars buddies – and they are even cuter in person! My kids love them!

In addition to the Sun, Moon, and 9 planets (yes, they count Pluto!), you can also select a Black Hole, Polaris, or a Comet! Like the planets and celestial bodies, the Celestial Buddies come in different sizes and colors that reflect the individual celestial body (and their unique plushy personality!)

You can purchase your very own Little Earth (or any of the other absolutely adorable Celestial Buddies) by visiting: https://www.celestialbuddies.com/.
