One of my most popular posts, is a list of Baby Girl Disney Names. Choosing a name for your child (or pet) can feel daunting as you search for a name that just feels “right.” Over the course of each of my pregnancies, I looked all over for inspiration – from baby naming books to family to pop culture. And while the more traditional among us feel as though a child’s name should come from a place of deep significance, I believe you should simply choose a name that speaks to you.
And for so many of us, Disney is nostalgia, joy, inspiration, and story wrapped up into one. So what better place to search for a name than from a list of Disney characters. I chose names from both animated and live-action Disney movies.
This list is in no way exhaustive. (Do you know just how many male Disney characters there are?!) Inevitably, some really cute names were left off of the list. Also, just as I left some of my most favorite characters like Eglantine Price from Bedknobs and Broomsticks off of my Disney Girl Names Post, I’m guessing not too many people want to name their child Tramp, Tigger, or Slinky. (Or maybe you do. Let freedom ring.) And just like in my Disney Girl Names post, I chose not to include many villains in the list. But if you want to name your kid (or pet) Stromboli, Scar, or Gaston – go right ahead.
Ajax (Toby Tyler, Donald Duck and the Gorilla) Perhaps a villain in both movies, but c’mon. Ajax? Cute enough name to include!
Aladdin (Aladdin)
