This summer, my  kids and I are working our way through movies that correspond to rides at Disneyland. I was so excited to introduce my children to Star Wars. To keep the fun going, I rounded up a collection of Star Wars activities, Star Wars printables, Star Wars recipes, and more! Your children will have fun playing and learning with these Star Wars themed projects.

Star Wars Activities:

1. Design a Creature

One of my children’s favorite parts of Star Wars IV is the famous cantina scene. They love seeing all of the crazy creatures and interesting characters. After watching the film, I had each of them design their own new creature. The only rules were that they had to use their imagination and design something original, and that they had to give their creature/species a name.

2. Pool Noodle Light Sabers

Grab a pool noodle or two from your local dollar store, and create these absolutely adorable (and relatively painless) light sabers. Your little Padawans will have hours of fun with these.

3. Talk Like Yoda

This is a fun game to play as a family – even around the dinner table or in the car. The rules are simple – say everything the way Yoda would. Take turns speaking. If you slip up, and speak normally, you’re out. The last person still talking like Yoda wins. Accept the challenge you will.

Star Wars Books for Kids:

Star Wars fans (and even reluctant readers) may enjoy diving into a book featuring their favorite characters and plots from the Star Wars franchise. There are SO many out there to choose from, but I selected a few of my favorites.

Star Wars Learning Activities:

1. Star Wars Printables

3Dinosaurs has created an absolutely ADORABLE selection of printables for young kids. There are over 90 pages to download and print, and the activities cover everything from math to literacy. If you have a young Jedi at home, he/she will love learning with these Star Wars worksheets.

2. Star Wars Printables

Home School Creations has also created an absolutely adorable pack of printable worksheets and activities for you to download and print. From flashcards to games to early literacy activities, your little learner will love working on academic skills in a fun and thematic way.

 3. Yoda Sentences Worksheets

I created a fun little worksheet to help your child work on sentence structure and capitalization in a FUN way. Your child will need to re-write the Yoda sentences using proper sentence structure. Have fun with this worksheet you will. =)

Star Wars Writing Prompts:

1. Would you rather be a Storm Trooper, a droid, or a Wookie? Why?

2. What does it take to be a good Jedi?

3. Which Star Wars creature would you most want for a pet/companion/sidekick? Why?

Star Wars Snacks:

1. Princess Leia’s Cinnamon Bunsbuns

This is a total cheat and easy way out – but my kids thought this was SUPER cool. (I mean really, they thought I was pretty clever…AND, I got to eat cinnamon rolls.)

2. Lightsaber Pretzel Rods

This is another easy treat. Grab a bag of the thicker pretzel rods. Melt almond bark or vanilla candy melts, and add your desired food coloring. Dip the pretzel rod in the colored melted candy. Super easy. You won’t even have to use the force.

*If you are really looking for something quick and easy, I have found Star Wars fruit snacks at my local grocery store. Pour a glass of lime Kool-aid and tell your kids they’re having “Yoda Soda” and it’s all good.
